We believe women should have choices, which is why we have more than one option for your prenatal supplement needs. Part of offering choices means we have an obligation to be clear about the product differences, and empower you with information to make the best choice for you. In this guide, we’ll walk through the prenatal options we currently offer.
When to start taking a prenatal supplement
The ideal time to start a prenatal is one to three months before trying to conceive. The window during which folate supplementation is most important is in the first 21 to 28 days after conception. Most pregnancies are not yet recognized during this time, so having the folate in your system ahead of time is best.
Mom-tested, doctor-formulated
We are committed to bringing you only the best, and we stand by our products. Each and every product goes through a lengthy research and product development process with our Medical Director Dr. Kenosha Gleaton and our Chief Women’s Health Officer Halle Tecco. We obsess over every detail and ingredient, and are fully transparent with our customers. Since medical research is a constantly evolving field, we are constantly learning and will change our product formulas when appropriate.
All our formulas use methylfolate (not folic acid) to protect against neural tube defects
MTHF folate (L-5-MTHF) is the most abundant folate found in the human body. It is naturally found in food, but is most easily absorbed from a dietary supplement. MTHF folate is the most highly bioavailable folate found in dietary supplements. It can be immediately utilized by your body and doesn’t need to be converted by the enzyme methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR).
